Christina Burkhart says Weather Detroit stays cool with rain Friday

Weather Detroit turned cooler and much less humid on Wednesday after a cold front moved through the Great Lakes region, with Christina Burkhart saying highs would stay in the low to mid 60s. That is around ten-plus degrees below the normal high of 72°, and most places were expected to stay dry despite a slight drizzle chance.

Christina Burkhart forecast

Burkhart said, "A bit of drizzle can’t be ruled out but most will stay dry." Winds shifted to the north and brought colder air, while locations farther north and east were expected to stay in the 50s. Wednesday night temperatures were expected to drop into the upper 30s to low 40s.

Thursday and Friday

Clouds were expected to decrease on Thursday and give way to some sunshine, with highs in the lower 60s. Friday was set to bring highs back into the mid 60s and the next chance of rain.

Showers were expected Friday evening and continue into Saturday, when the first half of the weekend was expected to be rainy with the chance of storms. Afternoon temperatures on Saturday were expected to reach around 70°.

Weekend rain chances

Burkhart said scattered rain chances should remain on Sunday and Monday, including Memorial Day, with highs in the mid 70s. She said, "This is still days away and may change, but for now you might want to plan a few inside activities and have an umbrella handy for the weekend."
