Palestinian Cabinet declares Eid Al-adha leave from Tuesday morning
The Palestinian Cabinet declared eid-al-adha holiday leave from the morning of next Tuesday until the evening of Saturday, setting the official break for the holiday period. The Cabinet also said the Ministry of Finance is still working to secure payment of a portion of salaries before the holiday.
Palestinian Cabinet and Finance Ministry
The ministry will issue a statement regarding salaries later, giving public sector employees a second piece of holiday-related news after the leave dates themselves. The Cabinet extended its congratulations to the entire population on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Adha.
The announcement arrives as the Cabinet says the government is facing a financial blockade, and it places the salary file at the center of the days before the holiday. Clearance funds, the Cabinet said, are Palestinian funds and should be transferred fully and regularly to the Palestinian Ministry of Finance in line with signed agreements and existing commitments.
Clearance Funds and Protest Calls
The Cabinet also called on all unions to cease protest activities, linking the holiday notice to a broader dispute over the flow of money into the Ministry of Finance. For workers and unions, the immediate practical question is not the holiday timetable itself, but whether part of the expected salaries reaches them before the break begins.
The sequence now runs from the Cabinet’s holiday declaration to the Finance Ministry’s later statement on salaries. Until then, the leave window from next Tuesday morning through Saturday evening is the only set period on the calendar, and the salary decision remains the next official step.
