Bunting Beats Humphries 6-3 in Sheffield at 2026 Premier League Darts
Stephen Bunting beat Luke Humphries 6-3 in Sheffield to win his second nightly 2026 premier league darts title of the year. The result lifted Bunting to fifth in the final standings and pushed Humphries into third, altering the semi-final pairings for finals night at London's O2 Arena next Thursday.
Bunting Finds His Timing
Bunting ended the final with seven 180s and a 106.37 average, then closed the match in 12 darts after starting the leg with six perfect darts at 5-3 up. He had last won on night four in Belfast, and this latest win gave him back-to-back proof that he can finish nights with the top group.
He also had to work through the night the hard way. Bunting beat Jonny Clayton 6-3 in the quarter-finals, averaging more than 100, before coming from 2-0 down to beat Gerwyn Price in the semi-finals. Against Price, he finished with a 161 checkout and three straight 100-plus finishes.
Humphries Still Reaches Third
Humphries arrived in the final after a different route. He averaged 105.24 to beat Michael van Gerwen in a last-leg decider in the quarter-finals, then beat Luke Littler 6-1 in the semi-finals, winning six legs on the spin. Even so, the Sheffield loss was enough to drop him to third overall.
That shift changes the shape of finals night. Humphries will meet Jonny Clayton in one semi-final at the O2 Arena, while Gerwyn Price faces Littler in the other. For Bunting, the night ended with a fifth-place finish and a clear message of his own after a season that had already included that Belfast win.
“I was probably a bit hard on myself. I'm up to fifth! I'm so happy with that” Bunting said after the final. “People wrote me off and said I shouldn't be in it. I want to be in this Premier League for years to come. That was a massive statement from me.”
