Rio Ngumoha Joins England Camp as Ethan Nwaneri England Squad Call-up Grows

Rio Ngumoha will join England’s pre-World Cup camp in Florida, adding another young forward to Thomas Tuchel’s plans after Friday morning’s 26-man squad announcement. The ethan nwaneri england squad call-up came alongside a broader move to bring extra youth into a 13-day preparation block in Palm Beach.

Tuchel’s Palm Beach group

Tuchel said Liverpool forward Ngumoha was selected as one of four additional players for the camp, and he named Alex Scott and Josh King as the other players already set to travel. One more player will join them, though Tuchel said that name could not be shared because it was not confirmed yet.

“We will take some young players out who will train with us and keep the squad in the size that we need, so that we have all the possibilities also for the two friendly matches to take care about the minutes and the load of the players.”

That approach gives England a tighter working group for the camp without changing the 26-man group announced for the summer tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico. Tuchel’s message was plain: the extra players are there to train, help manage workloads, and keep the squad flexible for the two friendlies on the schedule.

June 1 to June 17

England’s camp runs from June 1 to June 13, with friendlies against New Zealand on June 6 and Costa Rica on June 10. The schedule then moves straight toward the World Cup, where England open their group stage against Croatia on June 17.

“So, this will be: Alex Scott is confirmed, Rio Ngumoha is confirmed and Josh King, and there will be one more player that we cannot name because it’s not confirmed yet. But I am happy that these guys are with us.”

For Ngumoha, the selection puts him inside England’s tournament build-up rather than on the outside of it. For Tuchel, it keeps the camp stocked with younger players while the senior group prepares for two matches, a short Florida stay, and the first game that actually counts on June 17.
