Isco returns as Adrián San Miguel starts farewell — Real Betis - Levante

Real betis - levante ended the LaLiga season at La Cartuja with Adrián San Miguel in Real Betis’s starting XI for his final professional match and Isco Alarcón back in the league lineup after one year. Betis had already sealed Champions League qualification, while Levante arrived needing one point to secure mathematical permanence in Primera División.

Adrián San Miguel at La Cartuja

Adrián announced this week that he was retiring, and Saturday gave him one last walkout in front of the Betis supporters. The goalkeeper was allowed to say goodbye on the pitch at La Cartuja, turning a routine season finale into a farewell for a player who had become part of the club’s modern identity.

Manuel Pellegrini named a recognizable Betis side despite five absences. Aitor Ruibal, Marc Bartra, Ángel Ortiz, Sergi Altimira and Sofyan Amrabat were all unavailable, but the coach still sent out Adrián, Bellerín, Llorente, Natan, Ricardo, Marc Roca, Fornals, Isco, Antony, Abde and Cucho.

Isco back in the Betis XI

Isco’s return was the other major selection note. He started a LaLiga match for Betis again after one year, giving Pellegrini another established option in a lineup that stayed close to the first-choice shape for the 38th round.

That selection sat alongside Levante’s own constraints. Luis Castro could not count on Unai Elgezabal or Carlos Álvarez because of injury, Víctor García missed out with a muscle overload, and Rober Brugué was suspended after his direct red card against Real Mallorca the previous weekend.

Levante’s finished XI

Jeremy Toljan recovered enough to start after completing the last two training sessions, a useful boost for Levante on a day when the margin for error was already thin. Their lineup was Ryan, Toljan, Dela, Moreno, Manu Sánchez, Olasagasti, Arriaga, P. Martínez, Iván Romero, Tunde and Carlos Espí.

The setup left both clubs with different stakes but the same final whistle waiting at La Cartuja. Betis had already secured its Champions League place, and Levante needed at least one point to lock up survival, so the lineups carried the weight of the season even before kickoff.
