Georgia Baseball Sends No. 1 Georgia Into SEC Semifinal Battle
No. 1 Georgia and No. 5 Florida meet Saturday at 1 p.m. in the SEC Baseball Tournament semifinals, and georgia baseball now has the top seed playing for a spot in the final. The winner moves one step from the championship game and the automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals.
Georgia and Florida at 1 p.m.
Day 5 opened with four teams left, and Georgia drew Florida in the first semifinal on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Both teams arrived in the bracket after the tournament produced upsets that reshaped the field around the top seed.
The matchup puts No. 1 Georgia against No. 5 Florida, a pairing that gives the tournament’s highest seed a direct path into Sunday’s title game if it handles the first test. The semifinal also puts Florida one win from the same stage.
Arkansas and Auburn follow
The second semifinal sends No. 7 Arkansas against No. 6 Auburn at 5 p.m. Saturday on SEC Network. That game keeps the bracket’s lower half alive after the early rounds removed other higher seeds.
With four teams remaining, the tournament has narrowed to Georgia, Florida, Arkansas and Auburn. The seed mix shows how quickly the bracket flipped, but it also leaves Georgia in the clearest position: one win Saturday sends it to the final.
Sunday title game at 2 p.m.
The semifinal winners are scheduled to meet Sunday, May 24, at 2 p.m. on ABC for the championship game. The SEC Tournament champion will earn the automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals, which is the prize hanging over both games on Saturday.
For Georgia, the path is simple and immediate. Beat Florida, and the top seed plays again Sunday with a title and regional berth on the line.
