The Saints discovered their fate on Wednesday, 72 hours before the final was due to kick off, after they had already sold 35,000 tickets. Earlier examples of coach trouble have included Liverpool's bus being prevented from reaching Old Trafford in 2021 and Manchester City's bus being damaged at Anfield in 2018.
"They have had to knock out some of the glass on the exterior of the window, still OK for the players to make the very short journey to Wembley Stadium from here at the team hotel which is a few 100 yards away."
