Cuesta Plans Corvi Start For Parma - Sassuolo Finale
Parma - Sassuolo now has a clear lineup call: Carlos Cuesta said Corvi will start in goal for Parma in the final match of the Serie A season. Parma already have survival secured, but the coach wants one more push after three straight defeats and a chance to finish on 45 points.
“Giocherà Corvi, con altri dieci. Questo è già tanto!” Cuesta said as he set the frame for the finale. He added that the week has been built around one target: “È stata una settimana dove c'è stato un focus chiaro: arrivare a 45 punti.”
Corvi Takes The Parma Net
Cuesta’s decision puts Corvi at the center of the match against Sassuolo. It also comes with a stripped-down squad, as Parma will be without Rinaldi, Cremaschi, Delprato, Strefezza, Estevez, Elphege, Bernabé, Ondrejka and Oristanio.
That shortage forced the coach to pull in six Primavera players: Mazzocchi, Mena, Plicco, Tigani, Mikolajewski and Cardinali. Cardinali had been close to making his debut on Sunday, but Cuesta said Elphege’s injury stopped that from happening.
Cuesta Targets 45 Points
Parma’s final-day target is simple enough. Cuesta said the highest possible finish is 12th place, and he wants the team to reach 45 points while closing out a season that has already delivered survival in Serie A.
He also made the personal and team standard clear in the same breath: “Tutte le domande sul futuro dovranno aspettare, il focus è sul Sassuolo, sul finire una stagione che ha avuto aspetti positivi ma anche dei punti bassi.” For Parma, the match is less about what comes later than about ending a stretch that includes three consecutive defeats.
Parma Youth On Call
The squad changes are tied to the club’s youth group as well. “La Primavera ha una partita importante lunedì, con mister Corrent, Notari sono stati bravissimi nell'aiutarci a essere il più competitivi possibile,” Cuesta said, pointing to the short-term balance between the senior side and the academy group.
He still left room for a clean finish in front of the home crowd. “Sarebbe bellissimo finire con una vittoria davanti ai nostri tifosi,” he said, while adding: “A titolo personale ho imparato tanto, è stata una grande esperienza di vita.” For Parma, the finale now carries a direct lineup headline, a thin bench and a chance to end the season with a result that would carry the team to 45 points and as high as 12th.
