Bracket Revealed for 64-Team Softball Games Today Field — Softball Games Today

The 2026 NCAA Division I softball tournament bracket was revealed on Sunday, May 10, giving softball games today a 64-team field and a clear path to Oklahoma City. Action starts at 16 regional sites from Friday, May 15 through Sunday, May 17, before super regional play and the Women's College World Series at Devon Park.

Sofie Davis on the bracket

Sofie Davis, an NCAA.com Digital Editorial Postgrad, explained the bracket, schedule, scores and more as the field came into focus. The tournament includes 31 automatic qualification bids and 33 at-large bids, with teams required to own an overall record of.500 or better against Division I competition to be considered.

That cutoff leaves no room for a weak profile. The Division I softball committee championship subcommittee also weighs strength of schedule and other measures, so the bracket reflects more than raw wins and losses.

Texas, UCLA, Oklahoma

Texas enters as the defending champion after beating Texas Tech in the 2025 championship series. The Longhorns won the national title for the first time in program history with a 10–4 victory over Texas Tech in Game 3.

UCLA still owns the standard at the top with 13 titles, the most all time, though its last championship came in 2019. Oklahoma won four consecutive titles from 2021 to 2024, a stretch that still shapes how the bracket is viewed by teams trying to take the crown back.

Devon Park in Oklahoma City

The final eight teams will head to Oklahoma City for the Women's College World Series starting on Thursday, May 28 at Devon Park. The stadium holds 13,000 fans and has hosted the event every year since 1990 except 1996, giving the tournament a fixed stage after the regional and super regional rounds sort out the field.

For teams and fans, the bracket release on May 10 is the point when the road becomes concrete. Regional play runs first, super regionals decide the eight survivors, and the bracket now points straight to Devon Park.
