Baxter Holmes On 30th Anniversary

Baxter Holmes, ’s senior NBA writer and an OU graduate, said the project began forming in February of last year as the 30th anniversary approached. "February of last year, I was thinking the 30th anniversary was approaching.. so many after this has happened, it's easy to feel forgotten," he said.

Thunder Visits Since 2008

The documentary tells the story of how the Thunder helped the city emerge from the shadow after the bombing, with its title tied to a statewide initiative built around a culture of caring that grew out of acts of kindness after the attack. Officials said that since 2008, every new Thunder player and employee has visited the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum.

Memorial Ties In Oklahoma City

That visit pattern gives the film its clearest frame: the Thunder’s link to the memorial has been treated as part of the franchise’s identity for more than a decade and a half. The new release puts that relationship in front of a wider audience at the same time the memorial is drawing people for a public viewing.
