Vitor Pereira Casts Doubt on Anderson Stay — Elliot Anderson Transfer News

Elliot anderson transfer news took another turn after Nottingham Forest manager Vitor Pereira said he does not know whether Elliot Anderson will stay at the club this summer. The uncertainty comes with Manchester United high on the 23-year-old midfielder’s shortlist, while Forest try to keep a squad together after a season split between the Europa League and a Premier League relegation battle.

Pereira on Anderson

Pereira did not hide the uncertainty after Forest’s final Premier League game. “I don't have the answer. If you ask me if he deserves the best clubs in the world, he deserves,” he said, before adding: “He has a lot of quality, he is a talent. But he is our player and I am very happy with him. The market is the market, I cannot predict the market. I know we want to keep the same players, to bring two or three players to help us balance the squad. In the end, we'll see.”

That leaves Forest in a familiar position: wanting stability, while a player who has become central to the club’s plans is attracting stronger interest elsewhere. Pereira’s comments were made after the season ended, and they align with the sense that Anderson’s future may move quickly once the market opens.

Manchester United's Midfield Plan

Manchester United are set to sign a replacement for Casemiro, and Anderson sits high on their midfield shortlist. The club’s return to Europe’s elite competition with three games to spare gives them a stronger pitch, and Michael Carrick said after the 3-0 win against Brighton that United were “delighted” and had treated the final stretch as one season rolling into the next.

Carrick also said: “It's not ended here and I think we want to keep building and keep pushing.” That message fits the recruitment picture around Anderson, because United are not just shopping for depth; they are shaping a midfield for the next campaign.

Forest's Summer Balancing Act

Forest ended their season with a 3-0 win against Brighton, but the bigger story for them is whether they can keep the same core together. Pereira said, “This season was very, very tight in terms of the battle of relegation,” and later added: “We did well, we competed, we went in a semi-final. It is not easy with the two competitions, struggling in one and trying to move forward in another. In the end, I am proud. We are proud of our work, of our supporters. I believe that next season we can go and do good things.”

That is the line Forest now have to walk: protect a squad that carried them through Europe and survival pressure, while Manchester United and Manchester City circle a 23-year-old who is expected to start alongside Declan Rice in midfield for England at this summer's World Cup. Pereira wants to keep the group together and add two or three players, but Anderson’s name sits at the center of the market story already.
