Andy Robertson Deal Faces Juventus Hijack — Tottenham Transfer News

Tottenham transfer news has shifted again after Juventus tried to hijack Andy Robertson's agreed move to Spurs on Monday night. Tottenham still hold priority for the Liverpool left-back, but the deal is not signed and Juventus have entered the race before the summer window opens.

Ben Jacobs said Spurs already had an agreement in principle with Robertson, while Fabrizio Romano said the deal was close after weeks of talks. Robertson's Liverpool contract runs to June 30, which leaves a short runway before June 15, when the transfer window opens and new signings can be registered.

Robertson and Spurs

Tottenham agreed in principle to sign Robertson on a free transfer earlier in 2026, after the January window shut. The agreement was tied to Spurs avoiding relegation, and they held on to their Premier League status on the final day of the season.

That detail leaves Spurs with leverage, but not a completed transfer. Jacobs said nothing had been signed yet, and Juventus have now tried to break into the move at the last minute.

Juventus Enter the Race

Di Marzio said Juventus had made inquiries and moves for Robertson and had also made an offer. Romano added that Juventus had entered the race and were trying to hijack the move with a proposal, while Jacobs described it as a hijack move on Monday to try to sign the defender.

The competition changes the pressure around Robertson's decision. Spurs want the deal that was arranged after their survival was secured, but Juventus are now weighing whether to make a formal offer before the window opens.

Robertson is due to be out of contract on June 30, so the next step belongs to the player. Spurs have a standing agreement in principle, Juventus are pushing in, and the outcome depends on whether that unsigned free transfer is still enough to keep him in north London.
