Hakimi and Dembele Psg Injury News Clouds PSG Final Prep

Psg injury news left Paris Saint-Germain sweating over Achraf Hakimi and Ousmane Dembele before Saturday's Champions League final against Arsenal in Budapest. Hakimi was not expected to be fit to start after a thigh injury, while Dembele had also been sidelined, tightening the margin for PSG in a one-off match.

Hakimi Missed PSG Training

Hakimi had been out since the semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich almost a month ago. PSG hosted an in-house friendly with 20-minute halves, and the full-back was unable to join.

He was not expected to return to training until Wednesday, three days before the final and two days before the squad were due in Hungary. That timetable left PSG with little room to recover one of their key defenders before facing Arsenal.

Dembele’s First-Half Setback

Dembele had been sidelined after being replaced during the first half of PSG's recent loss to neighbours Paris FC. The forward had looked confident he would shake off any niggles to start the final, but his availability remained part of the same late-week uncertainty around the squad.

PSG were due to be put through their paces again on Tuesday, and that session carried extra weight for Luis Enrique's side after the injuries to two of their main starters. PSG had already been crowned French champions, but the final in Budapest demanded something closer to full strength.

Arsenal entered the final after ending their 22-year wait for a league title by lifting the Premier League trophy, and PSG's fitness questions came at the wrong time. With Hakimi out for four weeks already and Dembele also coming off a recent absence, the club's margin for error narrowed before Saturday.
