Trump heads to Walter Reed for third Exam before 80th birthday
Donald Trump will travel to Walter Reed Medical Center on Tuesday for an exam, three weeks shy of his 80th birthday. The visit will be his third physical examination there since the start of his second term.

The White House said the visit is expected to include medical and dental evaluations and a private meeting with military staff. Trump’s appointment comes after an annual physical in April and an October visit described by the White House as a “semiannual physical.”
During that October appointment, Trump underwent a “preventive” computed tomography scan of his cardiovascular and abdominal organs. Dr. Sean Barbabella said the results were “perfectly normal and revealed absolutely no abnormalities.”
Trump’s Age Debate
Trump built part of his 2024 campaign on the argument that Joe Biden was too old to serve as president. Since then, Trump has faced renewed questions about his own age and health, including repeated images of deep bruising on his hands, makeup covering his hands at public events, visibly swollen lower legs and video that appeared to show him nodding off during appearances.
The White House denies that Trump has been caught on camera falling asleep. Trump has said cameras captured him “resting his eyes,” and aides have said that in some images he was simply blinking. Trump has also repeatedly said he has “aced” cognitive tests taken as part of his medical evaluations.
Polling After October
A Washington Post-Ipsos poll last month found 44% of Americans believed Trump was in good enough physical health to serve effectively as president, while 40% said he had the mental acuity the office requires. In September, the same poll found 54% believed he was in good enough physical health to serve effectively as president.
Trump has already been evaluated at Walter Reed three times since returning to office, and Tuesday’s visit adds another closely watched checkup to a record that has become part of the public debate over his health.
