Mississauga Renames Paramount Fine Foods Centre June 1, 2026
Mississauga will drop the paramount fine foods name from its main sports and entertainment venue on June 1, 2026. The city is ending its naming rights and concession agreement after nearly eight years and will use Mississauga Sports and Entertainment Centre as the interim name.
Raj Sheth said residents, tenants, and event organizers should expect business as usual at 5500 Rose Cherry Place. Programs, rentals, bookings, and events will continue while the city takes over food operations and works toward a new naming partner.
June 1 at 5500 Rose Cherry Place
The change takes effect at the facility known as the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, also called PFFC, and the old name will no longer be used once June 1, 2026 arrives. Tickets that reference Paramount Fine Foods Centre will be honoured, so anyone holding an existing ticket does not need to treat the transition as a separate event.
The city said it unilaterally terminated the contract because Paramount Fine Foods failed to pay what it was owed over a prolonged period of time. Mississauga says it is owed $1.6 million.
Raptors 905 stay in place
The venue remains home to the Raptors 905 of the NBA G League, and the city said it is working directly with tenants, sports organizations, partners and event organizers during the transition. That keeps the operational side of the building moving while the naming rights process resets.
The interim name will stay in place until a new naming partner is found. At the same time, the city is developing a new website, mississaugasec.com, to match the temporary identity and the shift in food service operations.
For people who use the building, the practical takeaway is simple: the venue keeps running, the name changes on a set date, and the city is taking over the concession side while it searches for the next sponsor. The on-site experience is meant to stay steady even as the sign on the front of the building changes.
