Yeremy Pino Selected for Spain’s 2026 World Cup Squad
Yeremy Pino is headed to the 2026 World Cup with Spain after being named in the squad, a step that extends his international role after March appearances in friendlies against Serbia and Egypt. The Crystal Palace forward now goes into the summer with a place in Spain’s plans and a run of club production behind him.
Pino’s Palace Numbers
Pino’s season at Palace ended with five goals and six assists in 52 matches in all competitions. He also produced one goal and two assists in the club’s Conference League campaign, giving Spain a forward who arrived with end product rather than just a squad place.
That selection also carries continuity. He was included in Spain’s 2022 World Cup squad in Qatar, so this is his second World Cup call-up. The March friendlies against Serbia and Egypt offered the latest sign that he remained in the picture, with Pino coming on as a replacement in both matches.
Spain’s Premier League Core
Pino is joined in the Spain squad by David Raya, Martin Zubimendi, Mikel Merino, Marc Cucurella, Pedro Porro and Rodri. Raya, Zubimendi and Merino are all Arsenal players, Cucurella plays for Chelsea, Porro for Tottenham Hotspur and Rodri for Manchester City.
The group also comes with one notable omission from the club level: there were no Real Madrid players in the Spain squad. Spain still arrive as one of the favourites for the tournament after winning the 2024 Euros by beating England.
Spain’s Group Starts June 15
Spain begin their 2026 World Cup campaign against Cape Verde on June 15, then face Saudi Arabia on June 21 before finishing the group stage against Uruguay on June 27. Pino’s place means Palace will have a player in one of the tournament’s most watched squads, while Spain will carry a forward who has already been used this year and delivered across domestic and European games.
