Kamada Hails Eze Ahead of Crystal Palace’s Final Push
kamada hovered over Crystal Palace’s build-up to the UEFA Conference League final as Eberechi Eze sent his former club a message of support before Leipzig. The 27-year-old said he was trusting his old teammates to beat Rayo Vallecano, with Palace still chasing a European trophy and a route back into next season’s Europa League.
Eze’s message to Palace
Eze’s words were direct and personal. He told Crystal Palace players, "Crystal Palace boys, I’m wishing you guys all the best. I’m praying you guys win, I know you’re going to win. You’ve worked so hard to get to this point, and you know what it takes in finals. I’m trusting you’re gonna do it, and god bless you, brothers."
That message landed before Saturday, when he was due to play in Arsenal’s Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain. It also came after a season in which he had already made 51 appearances across competitions for Arsenal, scoring 10 goals and adding 6 assists.
Glasner and Eze
Oliver Glasner responded in kind after TNT Sports played the message to him. "Top yeah. Really appreciate Eb’s words and that he’s still aligned with the group. He has a little contribution that we are here… Makes me proud," he said.
The connection between them runs through last season’s FA Cup final, when Eze scored the winner in Palace’s win over Manchester City. That victory sent Crystal Palace into Europe, only for UEFA’s multi-club ownership rules and Nottingham Forest’s presence to push the club down from the Europa League into the Conference League.
Leipzig and the prize
Palace reached Leipzig with more than one trophy on the line. Glasner’s side could win the competition and book a place in next season’s Europa League, turning a demotion into a direct return to a higher stage.
Eze’s note gave the final an extra edge because it came from a player who left Palace for Arsenal in late August yet still spoke like someone attached to the dressing room. For Palace, the task was still the same: beat Rayo Vallecano and finish the job they started by winning the FA Cup final a year earlier.
