Jason Deutchman Sees Us Open Tickets Hit $30,000 for Men’s Final

Us open tickets went on sale Tuesday at 9 a.m. ET, and the first wave of face-value seats disappeared quickly. By the time many fans looked again, the market had shifted to resale listings with much higher prices, including final-round seats that climbed far beyond the tournament’s entry-level options.

Jason Deutchman said he saw the same seats priced four times higher than last year. That gap showed up fast across the sale, with Verified Resale Tickets on Ticketmaster ranging from about $235 to $450 before taxes and fees after the initial face-value inventory went away.

The sharpest sticker shock sits at the top of the board. Tickets for the men’s singles final on Sept. 13 are going for as much as $30,000 on Ticketmaster, while the average men’s singles final ticket is $1,732 and the average women’s singles final ticket is $1,230.

Face-value access still exists, but the cheapest entry is limited. A one-day grounds pass ranges from $65 to $135 depending on the day, and the US Open also has 10 ticket plans, from three-day plans early in the event to two-week-long tickets for the main draw. The main draw runs from Aug. 30 to Sept. 13 at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Last year’s numbers help explain the pressure on this market. The tournament drew a record 1.14 million attendees, up 9% from 2024, and the average ticket price for the entire 2025 US Open was $529. This year, the average ticket price is $617 so far.

The demand spike hit fast enough that, for the third year in a row, the majority of Amex Presale tickets sold out within the first few hours of going on sale. The USTA said it is evaluating how to optimize fan access to the tournament, and it noted that resale listings during the presale period may come from full-series tournament subscribers, which is legal in New York State.

That leaves Tuesday buyers with a simple choice: keep chasing the limited face-value inventory when it appears, or pay resale prices that already put the men’s final in a different market entirely. General public sale starts Thursday at 12 p.m. ET, and the early rush suggests the cheaper seats will not linger long.

Fans also still have free-admission windows to target. Free grounds admission covers the seven days of qualifying week from Aug. 23 to Aug. 29, plus Open for All Day on Sept. 10.
