AutoExe Reveals Mazda CX-5 KM-07 AX Kit at ¥501,710

AutoExe has presented mazda CX-5 styling kits that give the new model a rugged and sportier look, led by the KM-07 AX off-road package priced at ¥501,710. The kits are set to reach customers through the Mazda dealer network in Japan, while Mazda itself is only considering an off-road version of the CX-5.

Yojiro Terada's AutoExe Vision

Yojiro Terada, AutoExe's founder and a former factory Mazda pilot and 24 Hours of Le Mans winner, put forward the shop's own vision for the new CX-5. AutoExe also offers the KM-07 sporty kit, priced at ¥445,060, giving buyers two factory-network alternatives before Mazda settles on any official rugged model.

The KM-07 AX package adds a redesigned lower front bumper section with integrated LEDs and an aluminum skid plate. It also brings bolt-on fender flares in matte or gloss black, a rear diffuser in an aluminum style, a matching tailgate garnish, rally-style mud flaps in red or black, special hood and tailgate decals, and protective covers for the door handles.

KM-07 AX and KM-07 Parts

The KM-07 sporty set takes a different route, with a front bumper extension and pronounced splitter, deeper side skirts, a roof spoiler, and a rear bumper extension that frames twin exhaust tips. AutoExe finished all of those components in gloss black, while saying it has work underway on functional parts for the CX-5.

The pricing gap puts the two kits in different lanes for buyers who want dealer-accessible changes without waiting for Mazda's own decision. The off-road KM-07 AX package costs the equivalent of $3,200, while the sporty KM-07 kit is listed at $2,800.

Autumn Catalog for CX-5

AutoExe expects to present a full catalog for the new CX-5 by autumn, with styling kits joined by future chassis and engine components. Until then, the current choice for CX-5 buyers in Japan is between the KM-07 AX and the lower-priced KM-07 styling set, both sold through Mazda's dealer network.
