Dallas Fire Response Injures 1 After Oak Cliff Apartment Explosion

A dallas fire response sent about 100 firefighters to an apartment building in Dallas’ Oak Cliff neighborhood on Thursday after an explosion and fire were reported around 1:30 p.m. near East 9th Street and North Patton Avenue. At least one person was taken to a hospital for treatment.

East 9th Street Response

Dallas Fire-Rescue said several victims were reported at the scene, and the department called the incident a three-alarm response. A large plume of black smoke rose over the area as crews worked near the corner where the report came in.

Oak Cliff Witness Reports

Neighbors said they heard a loud boom and felt their apartments shake. People in the area also reported hearing an explosion. Those accounts matched the scale of the response, but the exact cause of the fire had still not been determined.
