Jack Moylan Called Into Republic of Ireland Squad for Qatar

jack moylan is back in the Republic of Ireland squad for Thursday’s friendly against Qatar at the Aviva Stadium. The Lincoln City forward gets a second senior call-up after scoring a hat-trick on his debut in a 5-0 win over Grenada earlier this month.

Hallgrimsson Adds Moylan

Heimir Hallgrimsson issued an updated squad list on Monday after a series of withdrawals, and Moylan was among the players brought back in. Dara O’Shea also returns for the home fixture, while Caoimhín Kelleher is available for the first match only.

The adjustment gives Ireland a tighter split across the two-game window. Conor Coventry and Dawson Devoy will join later this week for the trip to Canada, while Jamie McGrath and Killian Phillips remain with the squad for the full international window.

Aviva Stadium First, Montreal Second

Thursday’s match against Qatar comes first at the Aviva Stadium. Ireland then moves on to Canada at Stade Saputo in Montreal on Friday, 5 June, with the squad list shaped around those two venues.

That split matters for Moylan because his involvement stops after the Qatar fixture. He stays available for the Dublin game only, alongside O’Shea and Kelleher, while the later additions cover the Montreal leg.

Moylan’s Rapid Rise

Moylan’s place in the group follows a strong start at international level. His debut hat-trick in Murcia gave Ireland a clear attacking return, and it has kept him in Hallgrimsson’s thinking for the first of the two games.

For Lincoln City, the call-up means another senior international opportunity for a forward who has already made an immediate impact. For Ireland, it leaves the squad set for Thursday before the focus shifts to the second fixture in Canada.
