Lime Ridge Mall set to reopen by 10 a.m. Friday after break
lime ridge mall closed early Thursday after a water-main break, cutting short one of its normal shopping days. The mall said it would lock its doors about five and a half hours early and expected to be open as usual by 10 a.m. Friday.

The closure came on a day when Lime Ridge is normally open until 9 p.m. on Thursdays. That left a gap between the mall’s regular schedule and the earlier shutdown the property posted on social media.
A city spokesperson said the water main was privately owned, which puts repair responsibility on the property owner. The spokesperson also said the city’s public works committee had been told that municipal ruptures like this cost the city almost $4 million in 2025.

The same report noted that colder-than-normal temperatures spurred nearly 40 breaks in January. That figure gives the closure a broader local context: the mall’s outage arrived during a year when water-main failures have already carried a large repair bill.
For shoppers and workers, the immediate change is simple. Thursday access ended early, and the mall said normal hours were expected to resume Friday at 10 a.m., once the privately owned main is repaired.
