The game stayed tied until the eighth, when Arkansas pushed in front again with an RBI single before Hannah Coor matched it with a home run in the bottom half.
Kuszak’s swing finished the opener after 10 innings and turned a tense game into Nebraska’s first Women’s College World Series victory since 2002. It was also the program’s first WCWS-opening win since 1987.
Jordy Frahm’s 10 Innings
Jordy Frahm took the win after throwing all 10 innings and 133 pitches. She allowed eight hits and three runs, struck out nine, and walked one, giving Nebraska a complete-game effort that held Arkansas close enough for the late comeback.
Nebraska improved to 52-6, and the 52 wins tied the program record for most wins in a season. The Huskers also moved to 75-58 all-time in the NCAA Tournament, a mark that now includes a breakthrough night in Oklahoma City.
