Pavlovich Warns Tallison Teixeira Ahead of UFC Macau Fight
Sergei Pavlovich sent tallison teixeira a blunt warning before their UFC Macau matchup, and he said the tone matched the kind of fight he wants. The heavyweight veteran tagged Teixeira in a post last month and told him, “You are asking for a war… be ready — it will end soon. Review your plan.”
Pavlovich Message to Teixeira
Pavlovich also said, “He seems like a young guy, a little bit of a hot head, likes to get into brawls, and I’m the kind of guy that likes to get into brawls as well.” He added, “Usually, people like to avoid getting into brawls with me because they know it doesn’t go too well.”
The message landed on his Instagram account last month, with Valter Walker translating it into Portuguese in the comments. Pavlovich later explained, “I saw that he came out with (some comments), so I figured maybe I’d change the tactic a little bit and send him a warning.”
Galaxy Arena Heavyweight Step-Up
The fight sits on the main card of UFC Fight Night at Galaxy Arena in Macau, and it brings a sharper spotlight to Teixeira’s UFC record. He is 2-1 in the UFC, got his roster spot by winning on Season 8 of the Contender Series, and had never been out of the first round before his bout with Tai Tuivasa.
That earlier-year win over Tuivasa was a decision in Sydney, and it showed a different side of Teixeira after a very short UFC run. His total UFC experience before that fight was 70 seconds, split into 35 seconds in a win over Justin Tafa and 35 seconds in a loss to Derrick Lewis.
Pavlovich Form And History
Pavlovich brings a far longer run of main-card leverage into Macau. He is 34 years old, owns an 8-3 record, and once put together a record-setting six straight first-round knockout wins over Derrick Lewis, Tai Tuivasa and Curtis Blaydes among others.
His last two fights went the distance, with decision wins over Jairzinho Rozenstruik and Waldo Cortes Acosta. He was also tabbed to battle Tom Aspinall when the interim title was last introduced at UFC 295, which keeps him near the top of the heavyweight picture as Teixeira tries to move from prospect to real test.
