David Bouchier Adds 2 Virgin Tv Channels at No Extra Cost

Virgin TV has two new channels for viewers, and neither costs extra. Virgin Media added 8 Out of 10 Cats and Pointless to its set-top boxes today, giving customers more ad-supported streaming options inside the same service.

David Bouchier, chief TV and entertainment officer at Virgin Media O2, said: "We are launching two brand new streaming channels to give our customers even more of the best entertainment from Virgin TV, at zero extra cost." He added: "With 8 out of 10 Cats and Pointless, comedy and quiz show lovers have their favourite content available on demand and 24/7."

The new channels join Virgin Media's existing 37 streaming channels, taking the total available to 39. They sit alongside services such as U&Transport, British Screen Classics and Inside Crime, and can be found on the Electronic Programme Guide.

FAST on Virgin TV

The two arrivals are ad-supported FAST channels, part of Virgin Media's growing FAST programming on Virgin TV. FAST, or Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television, has become one of the fastest-growing categories in British television, and Virgin Media is using it to widen the menu without raising the price tag for its TV customers.

Virgin Media's entertainment bundle already includes more than 200 channels, download speeds of 362Mbps and a Netflix subscription worth £5.99. For viewers who already use the set-top box, the practical change is simple: two more channels are now available at zero extra cost, and both are built around formats that can run day and night without a schedule change from the customer side.

39 Channels on Virgin TV

Earlier this year, Virgin Media rolled out a trio of other new channels, and this latest addition keeps the pace moving. The company is expanding its FAST lineup rather than leaning on one-off launches, which makes Virgin TV look more like a rolling channel bundle than a fixed package.

For customers, the immediate move is to check the Electronic Programme Guide for 8 Out of 10 Cats and Pointless. Virgin Media's bet is clear: more choice, no extra charge, and a channel mix that keeps comedy and quiz programming in front of viewers all day.
