Chojniczanka beats Rekord 2:0 as Sabala finishes second — Tvp Sport
Chojniczanka Chojnice closed the season with a 2:0 win over Rekord Bielsko-Biała, and the result gave the club a third straight victory to finish on a high note for tvp sport readers. Marcin Kozina scored in the 5th minute, and Valerijs Sabala added the second in the 34th.
Sabala and Kozina strike early
The opener came fast. Kozina scored in the 5th minute, giving Chojniczanka control before the match could settle, and Sabala doubled the lead before the hour mark of the first half arrived. Those two goals were enough to settle the final day meeting and send Rekord away without a reply.
Sabala’s finish carried a second layer of consequence. The goal left him as the runner-up in the II liga scoring race, one goal behind Kamil Sabiłło of Unia Skierniewice, so the match decided more than just the final scoreline for Chojniczanka.
Marek Brzozowski after full time
Marek Brzozowski called the win “Słodko-gorzki jest smak tego zwycięstwa” after the match. He also said, “Czujemy, że było trudno, ale było w zasięgu to co chcieliśmy, czyli ta dalsza gra o awans barażach.”
That comment fits the season Chojniczanka finished. The club had been aiming for continued play in the promotion playoffs, but that target was not reached, even with three wins in a row to end the campaign and an eighth-place finish in the table.
Chojniczanka’s June return
The season now rolls into the next phase on Chojniczanka’s calendar. The team will resume preparations for the new season on 22 June, and the club plans to announce its transfer list and the names of players whose contracts will not be extended in the coming days.
Chojniczanka will start the next season in the last weekend of July, with the late-season win over Rekord setting the tone for a summer that already has clear dates and personnel decisions attached to it. Brzozowski called the season’s path a strong base for what comes next: “To na pewno jest taki mocny fundament na przyszły sezon.”
