PSG Players Could Earn €1 Million Each in Champions League Winner Push
Paris Saint-Germain’s champions league winner push now carries a €1 million payout for each first-team player if they beat Arsenal in Budapest. The collective bonus puts every squad member in line for the same reward as PSG chase a second consecutive Champions League title.
Luis Enrique on PSG motivation
“I don’t think there’s any better motivation than winning the Champions League,” Luis Enrique said before the final. He added: “We will see tomorrow who is better - we both won our respective leagues and I’m going to focus on what is positive for my team.”
The PSG head coach also said: “So that we can show the best of ourselves.” That is the frame for a squad that reached the final again after last season’s 5-0 win over Inter Milan, and now needs one more result to turn the bonus agreement into a full payout.
Marquinhos and PSG leaders
The bonus structure was negotiated by PSG’s four-man leadership group of Marquinhos, Achraf Hakimi, Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha. The arrangement gives every first-team player around €1 million, including players on the fringes who would normally sit outside the spotlight.
That equal split changes the shape of the reward. It is not built around goals or minutes, but around the group reaching the same finish line in Budapest’s Puskas Arena.
Budapest and Arsenal
Arsenal stand between PSG and the trophy, and the final is the only trigger for the payment. PSG are chasing a second consecutive Champions League title, and Luis Enrique said: “It’s a source of motivation for us.”
He went further, saying: “We have already gone down in the history books as one of the best teams in Europe.” He added: “But that’s what we’re looking for.” The player bonus now sits alongside that objective, with the squad set to share the same reward if the final ends with PSG lifting the trophy.
