MVPW-03 Sets Record Gate for El Paso County Coliseum — Holly Holm Fight

MVPW-03’s holly holm fight card sold out and set the highest gate ever for a combat sports event at the El Paso County Coliseum. The record comes with Stephanie Han and Holly Holm headlining for the WBA Lightweight World Title, and it puts El Paso at the center of a major women’s boxing night.

Han And Holm Lead The Card

Han vs Holm 2 closes the evening, with the El Paso native meeting the former boxing and UFC champion in the main event. That bout sits atop a card that also includes Amanda Serrano against Cheyenne Hanson, Lourdes Juarez against Yokasta Valle, and Desley Robinson against Mary Spencer.

The main event is only part of why the show drew such attention. MVPW-03: Han vs Holm 2 and Serrano vs Hanson was officially the hottest ticket ever at the El Paso County Coliseum, and the sold-out crowd pushed the event into record territory for the venue.

El Paso County Coliseum History

The coliseum has already hosted some of boxing’s biggest names, starting with George Foreman’s knockout of Vic Scott in 1971. Salvador Sanchez, Erik Morales, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Sugar Shane Mosley also fought there, giving the arena a resume that makes this gate record stand out even more.

Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian said the record-setting night showed how far women’s boxing has come, calling it “a powerful statement about how far women’s boxing has come.” They also said, “This is a historic moment not only for Most Valuable Promotions, but for El Paso and the local fight fans who have supported this event from day one.”

3 pm MST To 7 pm

The action is set to begin with prelims at 3 pm MST on +, before the main card starts at 7 pm live on. Han and Holm finish the night, with championship fights spread across the card and the venue record now attached to the event before the first bell.
