Amanda Serrano Ties Christy Martin With 32 Knockout Wins
Amanda Serrano tied christy martin with 32 knockout wins after stopping Cheyenne Hanson in the second round in Texas. The win kept Serrano’s WBA and WBO featherweight titles with the 37-year-old adding another finish to a record that already stood apart.
Serrano Finishes Hanson
Serrano, the WBA and WBO featherweight champion, was the first fighter to stop Hanson inside the distance. Hanson was 28 years old, but the bout ended before she could turn it into a long fight.
The stoppage came in the second round and moved Serrano level with Martin for the most knockouts in women’s boxing history. It also pushed her total to 32 knockout wins, a mark that now sits alongside one of the sport’s most recognizable names.
Han Holds Off Holm
The same card also sent Stephanie Han home with a successful title defense. She beat Holly Holm by decision to retain the WBA lightweight title.
One judge scored it 95-95, but the other two had Han ahead 96-94. Afterward, she said, “The next fight I want, and I know every fighter wants it, is Katie Taylor,”
Titles Stacked Across Texas
Elsewhere on the card, Desley Robinson retained her IBF and WBO middleweight titles by beating Mary Spencer, Lourdes Juarez kept her WBC light-flyweight belt against Yokasta Valle, and O'Shaquie Foster held onto his WBC super-featherweight title with a majority-decision win over Raymond Ford in Houston.
For Serrano, the number that matters most now is 32. She leaves Texas still holding both featherweight belts and level with Christy Martin, with the division’s champion now sharing a historic mark rather than chasing it.
