Melvin Koh takes Ticketek Asia role as Ticketek expands
ticketek named Melvin Koh as General Manager, Ticketing Asia on Monday, June 1, placing him in Singapore to lead operations, strategic partnerships and platform growth across Asia. The appointment comes as TEG is expanding its presence in the region.
Koh said, "The opportunity to lead Ticketek’s growth ambitions in Asia from Singapore is one I’m genuinely excited about." He added that "The live entertainment market in this region is growing rapidly, and venues, promoters and rights holders are increasingly looking for a technology and data platform that can keep pace with that growth."
Melvin Koh in Singapore
Koh has more than 18 years of experience across sports, entertainment, venue management, commercial strategy and ticketing. Before joining Ticketek, he held a senior leadership role at the Singapore Sports Hub, where he established the Ticketing and Access Management function and shaped its strategy and operating model.
TEG said that background covers both venue and promoter operations. Cameron Hoy said that perspective will help Ticketek present its ticketing, digital marketing and data capabilities to partners across the region.
Cameron Hoy on Asia
Hoy said, "Melvin’s appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to Asia, a region we have operated in for many decades." He added, "Melvin brings deep experience across both venue and promoter operations, precisely the perspective needed to represent the full breadth of Ticketek’s ticketing, digital marketing and data capabilities to our partners across the region."
Hoy became chief executive of TEG on June 1, the same day the appointment was announced. He had served as TEG’s chief operating officer and head of global ticketing since December 2023, and he joined Ticketek Australia in 2007.
Ticketek and SISTIC
The move lands months after AEG subsidiary AXS agreed in October to take a majority stake in Singapore-based ticketing platform SISTIC. For readers in the region, the practical effect is a Ticketek executive in Singapore tasked with pushing the company’s operations and partnerships across a market that is drawing more attention from ticketing businesses.
Koh said he looks forward to working with partners and the broader TEG team to deliver measurable impact across every touchpoint of the live experience.
