Kawasaki unveils KX327X and KX327 with 327cc 2-stroke

Kawasaki introduced the all-new KX327X and KX327, led by a completely new fuel-injected 327cc 2-stroke single-cylinder engine. The launch gives the brand a larger-displacement 2-stroke again for the first time in more than two decades, with the new bikes built around modern off-road use.

The two motorcycles combine a championship-proven chassis derived from the KX450F with the new engine. Kawasaki said the KX327 is its first new 2-stroke model over 250cc in more than two decades, a rare step back into a segment the company had left untouched for years.

The engine is designed to deliver a flat torque curve and precise fuel injection, with smooth and predictable power delivery from ultra-low to mid rpm. Kawasaki also said the fuel injection system is meant to keep fuel delivery stable regardless of outside air temperature or atmospheric pressure.

Both bikes use Kawasaki’s aluminum perimeter frame, along with aggressive Lime Green bodywork and slim, rider-focused ergonomics. The setup pairs 2-stroke weight with fuel injection and a chassis derived from the KX450F, while pre-mix lubrication keeps a simple, nostalgic element in the riding experience.

The release frames the bikes for off-road riding on technical terrain, wooded trails, and rocky sections. For riders watching Kawasaki’s direction, the key change is straightforward: the company has moved back into a 327cc 2-stroke platform above 250cc after more than two decades away from that size range.
