Jordyn Adams Released After 27 Games With Brewers

Jordyn Adams was released by the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday after just 27 games in the organization. The 26-year-old outfielder is now without a club after a brief run that included time on the 7-day injured list and development list.

Adams’ brief Brewers run

Adams signed a minor-league deal with Milwaukee in February, then spent the season split between Double-A and Triple-A. In 105 plate appearances, he hit.198/.298/.363 with 34 strikeouts, a line that left him short of a steady role in the system.

That production was a sharp drop from the kind of toolset that once made him a notable prospect. Adams hit 15 home runs and stole 44 bases for Triple-A Salt Lake in 2023, and he also appeared in 38 major league games for the Los Angeles Angels and Baltimore Orioles over the last two years.

Milwaukee’s outfield mix

Milwaukee’s release came while the club was still sorting out its outfield depth. As of Thursday afternoon, the Triple-A roster still included Akil Baddoo, Jacob Hurtubise, Greg Jones, Luis Lara and Luis Matos, giving the Brewers other options in reserve while Adams exited the picture.

Adams’ defensive highlight with the Sounds showed why teams kept giving him chances. He made a juggling home-run robbery just inside the foul pole, then turned it into a game-ending double play by firing the ball back in to nab the runner straying off first base.

For Adams, the move closes a short Milwaukee chapter that began in February and ended after 27 games. The next step is simple: he has to find another organization willing to bet that the bat can catch up to the athleticism that once carried him through the minors.
