Staal Leads Golden Knights Into 4-0 Stanley Cup Finals Sweep
Staal is in the middle of a Finals run that starts with the Golden Knights’ 4-0 Western Conference Final sweep of Colorado and carries them into Raleigh, N.C., on Tuesday, June 2. Las Vegas is facing the Carolina Hurricanes in the Stanley Cup Finals for the first time since its 2023 title, and the people closest to several players are part of that trip.
One of the most visible faces of that off-ice story is Stephanie Marner, Mitch Marner’s wife. The two started dating in 2015 after first crossing paths in elementary school, got engaged in 2021, married in 2023 and welcomed their first child together, Miles, in May 2025.
Mitch Marner and Stephanie
Marner joined the Vegas Golden Knights in 2025 after nine seasons with the Toronto Maple Leafs, so this Finals trip is also part of a new chapter for him in a new market. He has spoken openly about the support he gets at home, saying, “I’ve been so fortunate to have her as someone by my side for a long time,” and, “She’s one of a kind, she takes a lot of weight off my shoulders with our family... I’m very appreciative of her.”
Stephanie’s path is built around more than hockey. She graduated from Western University in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in biology and a certificate in marketing, and she works as a regional sales manager. That gives the Golden Knights’ run a very specific backdrop: one player arriving in Vegas in 2025, a family that grew in May 2025, and a Finals stage that now puts that routine under a different spotlight.
Emma Hutton and Honey
Ben Hutton’s family has its own changeover. Emma and Ben Hutton tied the knot on June 25, 2024, in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, after announcing their engagement on Feb. 1, 2023. In April 2025, they said they were expecting their first child, and Honey Monique arrived on Oct. 4, 2025.
Honey has already been seen around Ben Hutton’s games wearing noise-cancelling headphones. That detail fits the broader picture around Vegas: the finals are not only a hockey event for the roster, but a stretch where family life is moving at the same time as the schedule.
Shea Theodore’s Growing Family
Shea Theodore and Mariana Theodore have been together since 2015 and married in August 2023 in San Diego. Their family expanded with Wesley Reid on Sept. 7, 2024, after they announced in March 2024 that they were expecting their first child.
Then the pace picked up again. The day after Christmas last year, they said they were expecting their second child, which means Theodore enters the Finals with a household already in motion while the Golden Knights chase another title. For Vegas, that is the real off-ice thread in Raleigh: players, partners, newborns and pregnancies all moving through the same championship week.
