Katie Stewart Softball: Nebraska Falls 3-1 to Texas at WCWS
katie stewart softball ends with Nebraska’s 3-1 loss to Texas on Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma City, and the defeat closed a 2026 season that tied the program record with 52 wins. The Huskers finished 52-8, and the loss came in an elimination game at the NCAA Women’s College World Series.
Frahm Opens Fast
Jordy Frahm set the tone immediately. She led off the game with a solo home run to center, her 20th home run of the season, and Nebraska carried that run into a tight game that stayed scoreless on Texas’ side until the sixth inning.
Frahm also controlled the circle for most of the afternoon. She took a no-hitter into the sixth inning before Texas broke through with back-to-back singles and then a three-run home run that flipped the result and closed out the win.
Texas Breaks It Open
The late Texas burst left Nebraska with only one run to work with. Frahm took the loss in the circle and struck out five batters, while Hannah Coor added a double and Kacie Hoffmann and Bella Bacon each added a hit.
That sequence turned a one-run start into a season-ending loss. Nebraska never recovered after Texas’ sixth-inning rally, and the game ended the Huskers’ run in Oklahoma City.
Nebraska’s Season Mark
The loss finished a year that still landed in the program record book. Nebraska’s 52 wins tied the school mark for a single season, and the Huskers made their eighth Women’s College World Series appearance in program history.
They also added conference hardware along the way, winning their 21st and 22nd conference titles. For Nebraska, the final score in Oklahoma City ended the postseason, but the 52-8 record and the trip to the WCWS gave the season a place beside the program’s best.
