Chipotle Unveils 53,000 Burritos in Chipotle Nba Finals Promotion

Chipotle nba finals promotion will give away 53,000 free burritos after the final game of the 2026 men's professional basketball championship series. The campaign turns a championship finish into a nationwide text-to-win contest, with the first 53,000 fans who follow the instructions set to receive a free entrée offer.

53 Years in the 2026 Series

Chipotle Mexican Grill announced the campaign, called “53 Years. 53 Real Ingredients,” on June 3, 2026. The company tied it to New York and San Antonio’s championship pursuit, pointing to a 1973 link on both sides: New York won its last championship in 1973, and San Antonio’s professional basketball journey began in 1973.

Stephanie Perdue, Chipotle’s senior vice president of brand marketing, said, “This year's series created a connection we couldn't ignore: 53 years tied to a unique championship storyline and 53 real ingredients that define Chipotle.” She added, “Giving away 53,000 free burritos is our way of bringing that story to life for fans.”

How the Burrito Giveaway Works

Immediately after the final game, Chipotle will post a text-to-win code on X. The code will unlock 53,000 free entrée codes, and the first 53,000 fans to text the designated code to 888-222 will receive a free entrée offer.

That puts the promotion on a tight first-come, first-served clock. Once the 53,000 codes are gone, the offer is gone, and the only action required from a fan is to text the code to 888-222 after it appears.

Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges

Chipotle is also using the championship stage to push its “Time For Real” advertising campaign. Josh Hart and Mikal Bridges will appear in the ad, which is set to air during the second game of the series on June 5, and both players will bring their go-to high protein orders to fans as featured digital menu items for a limited time.

Fans can order Hart and Bridges’ meals on the Chipotle app and Chipotle.com. The players are both Chipotle Celebrity Card holders, and a Chipotle Celebrity Card grants free Chipotle for a year. Chipotle said Bridges has said he has eaten Chipotle every day since 2013.

Chipotle's Real Ingredient Play

The giveaway is bigger than a one-night promo because it ties a hard number — 53,000 burritos — to the company’s “53 real ingredients” message and the 53-year thread running through the series. Jake Scott, the Emmy-winning and Grammy-nominated filmmaker, directed the ad campaign with Venables Bell & Partners.

For fans, the play is simple: wait for the postgame code, then text it to 888-222 fast enough to land among the first 53,000. For Chipotle, the strategy uses the championship’s biggest audience to push both the burrito offer and its limited-time player meals in one shot.
