Andrea Bain Leads Big Brother Canada Return for Spring 2027
Bell Media has ordered a new season of big brother canada for Crave and CTV, with production set to begin in Montréal in Spring 2027. Andrea Bain will host the season while Bell also adds 12 seasons of the Canadian series to Crave.
Justin Stockman said, "BIG BROTHER is one of the most iconic and beloved formats around the world and we are thrilled to have it take up residency at Bell Media." He added that the company looks forward to delivering "Canadian audiences more of the eventful and unforgettable competitive social gameplay they love with a new season of BIG BROTHER CANADA."
Andrea Bain in Montréal
Bain, who co-hosts CTV's The Social, gives Bell a familiar on-air face for a franchise built around constant turnover and live-game pressure. The Spring 2027 production window puts the reboot on a clear runway, and Montréal keeps the show anchored in a Canadian production base rather than treating it as a one-off revival.
Bell's move also extends the franchise's library play. Twelve seasons of Big Brother Canada will stream on Crave, giving the company a back catalogue to pair with the new order instead of relying on a single return season to carry interest.
Big Brother Célébrités momentum
Season 6 of Big Brother Célébrités was the number one original reality series of Winter 2026 and the most-streamed show in French on Crave during that season. It drew nearly 4.7 million views across Crave and Noovo.ca combined, a scale that helps explain why Bell is leaning harder into the format.
Jane Rimer said, "Big Brother is a global phenomenon that continues to embed deep roots with local audiences." She added, "Continuing our long-standing partnership with Bell Media, we're thrilled to bring back this renowned superbrand to Canada which will be a brilliant way to showcase the country's culture and personality".
Summer 2027 plans
Bell Media will also bring future seasons of Big Brother USA to Canadian audiences beginning in Summer 2027. That pairing turns the franchise into a longer programming asset for both Crave and CTV, with the Canadian series returning first and the U.S. run following months later.
The broader franchise has been on air since 1999, when Big Brother first aired in the Netherlands 26 years ago. More than 600 Big Brother series have aired around the world in 70 markets, and the format was on air in 27 territories last year; Bell is betting that a proven library plus a fresh local season will keep Canadian viewers inside the same ecosystem well beyond Spring 2027.
