The interruption came with over six minutes remaining and arrived just after Wembanyama had checked back in for the final stretch. At that moment, the Spurs were down 92-86, and the fan reached him before security moved in.

Wembanyama did not turn the moment into a scene. He stood still for the snapshot, then later said, “I’ve never been in that situation. I didn’t know how to act.”
