Cam Ward Goes 17-of-31 in Titans' Friday OTA Work
cam ward finished 17-of-31 on Friday during the Titans' sixth day of organized team activities in Nashville. He also hit Carnell Tate on two of the day’s cleanest plays, a one-hand throw in team drills and a sideline grab after Tate beat Micah Robinson.
Ward was 5-of-7 in 7-on-7 work and 12-of-24 in team drills, giving Tennessee a split line that showed both rhythm and misses across the session. He also completed a touchdown downfield to Bryce Oliver and fired a bullet across the middle to Gunnar Helm.
Ward and Tate on Friday
The two Tate plays stood out because they came in different settings. The first was a one-hand throw in a team drill. The second came later on the sideline, where Tate fought off Robinson to finish the grab.
Ward’s day added up to 28-of-48 across the first two open OTAs when 7-on-7 and team periods are combined. That gives Tennessee a clearer early sample of how the quarterback is handling the offense in live practice reps rather than a closed workout setting.
Levis under pressure
Will Levis had the sharper stuff and the sloppier stuff in the same practice. He went 5-of-6 in 7-on-7 work and 10-of-17 in team drills, but he also threw two interceptions, first to Solomon Thomas and later to Keydrain Calligan when he tried to fit a pass to Lance McCutcheon.
Levis also hit Courtney Jackson on a deep ball for a big gain and found David Martin-Robinson on a downfield completion. Hendon Hooker added another layer to the quarterback rotation, going 9-of-13 with a perfect 6-of-6 in 7-on-7 work before finishing 3-of-7 in team periods.
Titans reps and receivers
Tyjae Spears caught four passes and turned short throws into bigger gains, while Wan'Dale Robinson led all receivers with six catches. Xavier Restrepo added four, Bryce Oliver finished with three, and Nick Singleton was more involved than he had been earlier in the spring.
Calvin Ridley also returned to the practice field and worked in individual drills. For Tennessee, Friday offered a useful read on how the passing game is being spread around: Ward was the most efficient among the quarterbacks in the biggest spotlight moments, Tate flashed on two difficult grabs, and the rest of the group continued to sort out reps in the sixth OTA session.
