Senior TT Red Flag Stops Lap Two Action — Iom Tt Red Flag
The iom tt red flag stopped the Senior TT on lap two after an incident at 11th Milestone near Cronk Y Voddy shortly before 18:55 BST. The rider involved was reported as conscious and talking, and was taken to Noble's Hospital by Airmed for further assessment and treatment.
Senior TT halted on lap two
The clerk of the course said there was not enough time to restart the race before roads were due to reopen at 21:30. That left the Senior as the latest interruption in a day already reshaped by delays, with the race moved forward from Saturday because of the weather forecast.
Earlier on Friday, racing was already pushed back by one hour after a crash on the A18 before scheduled road closures. The crash happened before 08:00 on the Mountain section of the 37.7-mile course, and the Isle of Man Constabulary said the incident at Brandywell was not too serious. Work was needed to clear the area before racing could begin.
Friday's schedule keeps shifting
The road did not reopen before the formal TT closure came into force at 10:00, and the lower section of the course closed at 11:00. A non-racing operational matter after the first race of the day pushed the rest of the revised three-race programme back further than the initial one-hour delay.
Michael Dunlop won Supersport race two and Sportbike race one earlier in the day, lifting his TT total to 36 wins. His results had already given Friday a full racing shape before the Senior was halted, but the afternoon stoppages left less room for the programme to breathe.
Saturday's rerun and cancellations
The Senior race is set to rerun on Saturday, with Sportbike race two due to follow it. Supersport race two has been cancelled, and Sunday’s contingency session will not now be used because of the changed weekend forecast.
This year’s TT schedule has been severely disrupted by rain. The opening day of racing on 30 May was postponed, several other planned sessions have been called off or shortened, and sidecar racing was removed from the schedule last week on safety grounds after an incident during qualifying.
