Brianne Jenner Gives PWHL Hamilton Its First Signing on Three-Year Deal

PWHL Hamilton made brianne jenner its first player signing on Friday, locking the forward into a three-year standard player agreement. The expansion club now has its opening piece in place as it prepares for its inaugural 2026-27 season.

Jenner Starts Hamilton's Roster

The deal runs through the 2028-29 campaign, giving Hamilton a veteran center of gravity before the rest of the roster is filled out. Jenner becomes the first of five players to be added during Phase 2 of the PWHL expansion roster distribution process.

Phase 2 began Friday and runs until 1 p.m. ET on Monday. After that, the attention shifts to the PWHL draft on June 17, the next major step in the league's roster calendar.

Ottawa's Captain Leaves

Jenner spent the last three seasons as a foundational member of the Ottawa Charge and served as captain. She leaves as the Charge's all-time leading scorer with 61 points, which ranks eighth in PWHL history, and 28 goals in 82 games, seventh all-time in the league.

Her 2025-26 season added more evidence of why Hamilton moved first. Jenner finished fourth in scoring with 12 goals and 14 assists in 40 games, earned a Forward of the Year nomination, and helped Ottawa reach the Walter Cup Final for the first time.

Jenner's Resume

From Oakville, Ont., Jenner brings a resume that reaches well beyond the PWHL. She has two Olympic gold medals, won in 2014 and 2022, and two Olympic silver medals, from 2018 and 2026.

She has also collected four gold medals, six silver medals and one bronze medal in 11 world championship appearances. For Hamilton, the signing is more than a name on a list; it is the start of the roster and the clearest sign of how the franchise intends to build for its first season.
