West Ham Set £80m Mateus Fernandes Price in Ineos Man Utd Midfield Bid

West Ham United intend to set an £80million price for Mateus Fernandes, putting the 21-year-old at the center of the ineos man utd midfield bid chatter. Manchester United have held talks over a possible fee and wages, while Paris Saint-Germain are also among his suitors.

Fernandes Sits At The Center

The valuation comes with West Ham needing to raise £150m this summer. Fernandes is one of their most saleable assets, and a move would add a major chunk toward that target.

He joined West Ham from Southampton last summer on a deal until 2030, with the club paying £38m for him. Southampton also negotiated a 15 per cent sell-on fee, so any sale now would push a portion of the proceeds back to his former club.

Manchester United Midfield Options

Manchester United’s interest is not floating in isolation. Michael Carrick is keen to find a midfield partner for Kobbie Mainoo, and the club’s current options in the middle include Mainoo, Bruno Fernandes and Manuel Ugarte.

They have already reached an agreement with Atlanta to sign fellow midfielder Ederson in a deal worth up to €45m. That adds another layer to United’s search, with Fernandes now one name on a broader midfield list.

West Ham Sale Pressure

Fernandes logged five goals and four assists across 40 appearances last season, enough to make him a contender for West Ham’s player of the year award. Konstantinos Mavropanos won that award instead, but Fernandes still finished his first season with enough output to draw interest from more than one major club.

Last month, a report said he does not have a release clause in his contract, which leaves West Ham in position to set the price themselves. Fernandes was also not named in Portugal’s squad for the upcoming World Cup, a reminder that his club future now carries more weight than his international summer plans.

For West Ham, the next move is simple: wait for the first approach and judge whether any bid comes close to the £80million they want. For United, the question is whether they push on Fernandes after already moving for Ederson and while looking for a partner for Mainoo.
