UNC Hosts USC In Super Regional For Omaha Trip — Unc Baseball Score

Unc baseball score: North Carolina hosts USC in a Super Regional at Boshamer Stadium this weekend, with a College World Series berth on the line. All three potential games are set for Chapel Hill, giving the No. 5 seed a home field edge in a series that decides who reaches Omaha.

Boshamer Stadium Hosts USC

UNC entered the matchup at 48-11-1 and 22-8 in the ACC after sweeping through the regional last weekend. The Tar Heels beat VCU in the opener and took both games against East Carolina.

USC arrives at 47-16 and 20-10 in the Big Ten after a harder path through College Station. The Trojans lost their opener to Texas State, then won four straight and outscored opponents 55-14 over the rest of the regional.

Ryan Lynch Faces Mason Edwards

Friday afternoon brings the first pitching matchup: USC ace Mason Edwards against UNC’s Ryan Lynch. That opening game sets the tone for a best-of-three series that has no room for a slow start.

The teams have not met since 2012, and both come in carrying recent postseason work. UNC reached the ACC championship game before losing to Georgia Tech, then turned around and finished its regional without a loss.

UNC's Path To Omaha

UNC last reached the College World Series in 2024, when it made its 12th CWS appearance before being eliminated by Florida State. The program now needs one more series win to return to Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, where the College World Series begins on June 12.

If the matchup reaches a third game, it is scheduled for Sunday, June 7. For UNC, the advantage is clear: every game stays at Boshamer Stadium, and the only thing left to settle is whether the home team can turn that setting into another trip to Omaha.
