London Fire Brigade Tackles 15 Engines at Kosher Kingdom Fire In London Today

London Fire Brigade sent 15 fire engines, around 100 firefighters and drones to a fire in london today at Kosher Kingdom in Golders Green, north London. The blaze drew dark smoke above the main shopping street and was visible from miles away, but no one was injured.

Assistant Commissioner Craig Carter said, “The circumstances of the fire are not believed to be suspicious at this time.” Metropolitan Police said the blaze was believed to have been caused by an electrical fault and that there was no indication of any targeted or deliberate act.

Golders Green response

Jay Shah, who works at the store, said he received a morning phone call telling him there was a fire affecting the business. “I think it’s from the warehouse at the back,” he said from the scene as crews worked at the kosher supermarket.

Nicky, a retiree watching the response, said, “It’s shocking,” and added: “It’s a big kosher supermarket serving the community. It’s really terrible.”

Police in Golders Green

Police said officers would remain in the area to provide reassurance. The fire came after arson attacks on synagogues and community sites in recent months, and after a stabbing attack in April targeted two Jewish men in Golders Green.

London police also created a community protection team to safeguard the Jewish community in the capital, with 100 extra officers initially assigned to it. For customers and workers at Kosher Kingdom, the immediate concern now is the building damage and the continued police presence around the shop.
