Loganholme Woman Leads $1.6 Million Australian Lotto Win After Facebook Post
A Loganholme woman in Queensland has claimed a $1.6 million australian lotto win after a Facebook post from her local newsagent prompted her to check a Gold Lotto ticket. She won $1,618,088.73 in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw 4683.
Loganholme Ticket Check
The woman said she was scrolling through her social media feed when she saw the newsagency post that it had sold a division one winning entry over the weekend. She said, "The newsagency that we purchased the ticket from had posted on their Facebook page that they sold a division one winning entry over the weekend and it reminded me that we purchased a ticket."
She checked the ticket immediately and said, "I checked the ticket immediately and it was a big shock." The winning QuickPick ticket was not registered to The Lott, so there was no way of contacting the division one winner about the prize.
Darrell Dhnaram
Darrell Dhnaram, the newsagent owner, said, "It’s incredibly exciting for our team to know one of our customers has had such a life-changing win." He said, "We hope this win brings plenty of joy to the lucky ticketholder and their family, and we’ll certainly be celebrating the news with our local community."
He said the win was the first division one prize since opening the shop. Four lucky punters won division one in Saturday’s Gold Lotto draw 4683, which used the numbers 10, 31, 44, 30, 43 and 25, with supplementary numbers 4 and 38.
Baxter Man
A Baxter man from Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula was another one of the four division one winners. He initially thought he had won $1,600 and told The Lott, "Wow! I won more than I thought!"
He said, "That’s fantastic. I was confused to why you were calling me." He added, "I had a quick look at it over the weekend, and I thought I’d won $1600 – obviously not!"
He said, "It will help a lot of people around me" and, "I’ve got to process this news before I can celebrate but maybe a nice dinner will be on the cards."
