Lesley Groff Denies Knowledge of Epstein Crimes in House Oversight Interview

lesley groff told the House Oversight Committee she never saw anything improper during a transcribed interview on Tuesday, denying knowledge of Jeffrey Epstein's crimes after nearly 20 years working for him. Rep. Stephen Lynch said she also denied being close to Epstein and said she was not aware that some women she arranged to massage him were minors.

Groff began testifying around 10 a.m. ET before the Republican-led committee as part of its investigation into Epstein. Her statement adds a first-hand account from someone who worked in his office for nearly two decades and now says she did not know what lawmakers have alleged happened around her.

Lynch said Groff also told lawmakers she arranged phone calls between Epstein and Donald Trump before Trump became president. He said she did not give the year those calls were set up. Groff's name appears more than 160,000 times in the Epstein files released by the Justice Department.

That record places her inside the chain of people who scheduled calls, meetings, and massages for Epstein, even as her account to the committee now separates her from criminal conduct. Michael Bachner, her attorney, previously said she had no criminal involvement with Epstein and that she is disgusted by his conduct and heartbroken by what victims endured.

Marina Lacerda's Account

Marina Lacerda said at a news conference in September 2025 that Groff would call her and tell her she needed to be at the house so often that she ended up dropping out of high school before ninth grade. Groff does not face criminal charges related to Epstein, and Bachner said in a statement that she had no criminal involvement with him.

The testimony leaves lawmakers with a narrower but direct account from one of Epstein's longtime assistants: Groff says she saw nothing improper, while Lynch says she was in the room for scheduling, calls, and massages tied to Epstein's world.
