Dustin Lynch Brings a Cameo and Drama to In the City

dustin lynch makes his Bravo cameo on In the City after Lindsay Hubbard said the episode comes with cast drama and a big bombshell. The country singer said the New York shoot felt unfamiliar, but he still moved through the cast's orbit and into a tense reality-TV setting.

Dustin Lynch at Margaritaville Hotel

At his fourth annual Pool Situation: Nashville CMA party at the Margaritaville Hotel in Nashville on Thursday, June 4, Lynch said he and Hubbard had been trying to get together and hang out for a long time. He was 41 when he spoke about the cameo, while Hubbard was 39.

“It was perfect timing, because I was up there and Linds and I have been trying to get together and hang out for a long time,” he said. He also called Hubbard a “great tour guide,” a simple way of describing how she helped position him for a reality-show appearance that sits outside his usual lane.

New York City and the Bravo world

Lynch said, “I’m nervous in New York City, first off. It’s not really what I’m used to.” He added that stepping into the Bravo world was “fun,” while Hubbard said, “No, it was so much fun, and he is such a natural on reality television.”

That crossover matters because Lynch is not just dropping into a scene for novelty; he is entering a cast environment already primed for conflict. Hubbard said she gave him a lay of the land before he met the others: “Here’s all the friends, here’s a little bit of the drama, just so you know what you’re gonna walk into.”

Rooftop bar and the bombshell

Lynch said his first interaction with the cast happened at a rooftop bar, where he said, “So we had some drinks to flow and really get the emotions going.” He also said, “There was drama happening, though,” and described himself as arriving “as a lifeguard, you know, refereeing.”

Hubbard said Lynch “really bonded” with her best friend Yvonne Najor’s husband, Nick Barber, and Summer House alum Andrea Denver. Lynch played coy about the cast drama he saw, but he did say “a big bombshell dropped earlier that day,” which is the kind of detail reality TV uses to turn a guest cameo into part of the story instead of a throwaway appearance.

In 2023, Lynch and Hubbard were rumored to be romantically linked, and both have denied being anything more than friends. His cameo keeps the focus on that public friendship line while putting him in the middle of a Bravo episode built around friction, not just a guest spot.

He said, “I felt like a bit of fish out of water, but I fell right in.” That is the right read on the episode: Lynch arrives as an outsider, but the show uses him as a bridge between the cast’s social circle and the drama already in motion.
