Lactalis Canada recalls Lactantia milk 1987085 after June 8 Lait notice
Lactalis Canada launched a lait recall on June 8, 2026 for Lactantia UltraPūr 2% lactose-free protein milk sold at Costco. The company said only 2-litre cartons with Costco item number 1987085 and the expiration date June 22, 2026 are affected.
Consumers should not drink, serve, use, sell or distribute the recalled milk. Costco is offering a full refund for cartons returned to a warehouse, and Lactalis Canada set up a helpline at 1-800-563-1515, available Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Eastern time.
Costco cartons in Canada
The recall covers cartons distributed in Costco warehouses across Canada between May and June 2026. The packaging shows the date as 22 JN 2026, and the company said the lot was sold only in Costco warehouses and Costco business centres.
Lactalis Canada said the product contains 20 g of protein and 2 % lactose-free milk. No other UltraPūr products are affected by the recall, so the action is limited to the specific 2-litre cartons named in the notice.
Vitamin limits on Lactantia
The recall was issued because the milk had excessive concentrations of vitamins A and D compared with recommended daily intake limits. That leaves shoppers with a simple check before any carton is opened: match the item number, the 2-litre size and the June 22, 2026 expiration date on the package.
For anyone who bought the affected lait, Costco's refund policy and the company helpline are the practical next steps. The recalled cartons should not stay in a refrigerator for use later, and they should be returned rather than consumed or shared.
