Evan Pfeufer's Ny Knocks Quote Draws New Attention

ny knocks is back in the spotlight because Evan Pfeufer wrote “Knicks in six” in his 2020 high school yearbook. The Smithtown resident and Sachem West graduate is now seeing that old line spread as the Knicks remain in contention for a possible Finals victory.

Evan Pfeufer and 2020

Pfeufer said, “Mine was just straight to the point, cold prediction.” He added, “Now that I'm getting all this traction from a quote and prediction I made when I was 17 is kind of surreal.”

That 17-year-old prediction is the reason the story has legs now. A quote that sat in a yearbook for years is suddenly getting attention because the Knicks are close enough to make the words look prescient instead of playful.

Don Donneruno’s Knicks Cakes

The wave of Knicks attention has also reached Don Donneruno, a lifelong fan and baker. This week he made a personalized Knicks-themed briefcase cake filled with money for one player.

He said he would bring a giant celebratory championship cake to wherever the Knicks are having their party on the day of the parade. He also said, “We did a birthday cake for Jordan Clarkson who had an insane game last night.”

Donneruno said, “The Knicks were all in it together, and you can feel it---the city is different when the Knicks are winning.”

For Pfeufer, the yearbook line is now the part that keeps getting replayed. For Donneruno, the work has already turned into edible Knicks memorabilia, with one birthday cake for Clarkson and one possible championship cake waiting for a parade.
