Panini adds Armando González to Mexico World Cup album update
Panini added armando gonzález to the Mexico set update for the 2026 FIFA World Cup album after leaving him out of the original Mexico section. The company said the update will arrive very soon, giving collectors a revised Mexico page that includes the Chivas forward.
The same update will also include Álvaro Fidalgo, while Neymar is expected to appear in the set changes.
Panini Mexico update
González, 23, earned a place in Javier Aguirre's final squad after his performances in the two most recent Liga MX tournaments. Panini's post changes the album's Mexico section after the original printing did not include him, even though he made Mexico's final list.
Panini also said on social media: "Álvaro Fidalgo formará parte del Set de Actualización que llegará muy pronto. Mantente atento a nuestras redes sociales, porque más adelante te contaremos cómo podrás conseguir su estampa". That wording points collectors toward a separate update set rather than a full reprint of the album.
Fidalgo and the Mexico squad
Fidalgo debuted for Mexico in March in friendlies against Portugal and Belgium. FIFA approved his one-time switch before Aguirre included him, and Panini's update now gives him a place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup collection as well.
Germán Berterame had remained one of Aguirre's options earlier in the year, while Raúl Jiménez is the expected starting center forward for Mexico at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The album update does not change Aguirre's selection decisions, but it does change which players collectors will find in the Mexico set.
2026 FIFA World Cup album
Panini's World Cup album agreement with FIFA is set to end after the 2030 World Cup, making this update part of the company's current run of official tournament editions. The exact sale date for the update sets has not been announced, so collectors will need to watch Panini's social channels for the release details.
