TELUS Opens Ontario Optik TV to 450+ Channels — Telus Tv

telus tv became a broader Ontario option on June 10, 2026, when TELUS made its full Optik TV suite available in the province. The launch gives customers a bundled TV product built around live channels, sports and streaming in one package.

Kevin McLaughlin on Ontario

Kevin McLaughlin said TELUS is expanding Optik TV to Ontario and offering a modern platform that combines streaming, live channels, sports and on-demand content. He added, "With more channels and streaming services out there than ever before, Canadians need choice and flexibility in how they purchase and enjoy entertainment. With Optik TV, we're offering a modern platform that lets customers combine their favourite streaming services, live channels, sports and on-demand content into one seamless package".

Ontario customers can access over 450 sports and live TV channels, then choose streaming services such as Netflix, Disney+, Crave, Prime Video and Apple TV. TELUS says customers can refresh their lineup every 30 days, a feature that turns the service into a more adjustable bundle than a fixed channel package.

PureFibre in Ontario

Customers must have TELUS PureFibre Internet to qualify for Optik TV. TELUS describes PureFibre as a 100% fibre-optic, direct-to-home connection and says it supports seamless streaming and on-demand viewing with faster Internet speeds.

That requirement narrows the audience to homes already inside TELUS' fibre footprint, but it also ties the TV product to the company's broader home network. TELUS says Optik TV can be bundled with TELUS Mobility, SmartHome Security and SmartEnergy, so the Ontario launch plugs television into a larger package instead of a standalone subscription.

Bundling beyond TV

The Ontario rollout arrives as TELUS leans on entertainment to pull more of a household's monthly spend into its own ecosystem. The company says it has more than 21 million customer connections, serves approximately 170 million lives in 200 countries and territories, and generates $20 billion in annual revenue.

TELUS also says its broader community work includes the TELUS Student Bursary, launched in 2023, which has distributed over $6 million in bursaries to 2,000 students to date. For Ontario customers, though, the immediate change is simpler: Optik TV now offers a more flexible way to buy TV, but only if their home already qualifies for PureFibre.
